GHS Wireless InfinitePlay Too Quiet: How to Turn It Up with Volume Boost

Guides & Resources

Oct 14 2026

To turn up the GHS Wireless InfinitePlay, update Glorious CORE and the headset firmware, then switch on Volume Boost. It raises the headset's maximum output without adding distortion. The game channel also now stays at 100%, so the left knob only sets chat volume and the right knob sets everything.

You told us GHS Wireless
InfinitePlay could be louder. We agreed, and the latest Glorious CORE update brings two changes that get you there: a Volume Boost toggle and a rebuilt chat mix. Here's how to switch both on, and what each one actually does.

How to turn up GHS Wireless
InfinitePlay in Glorious CORE

Five minutes, one toggle, and a knob you can finally stop babysitting.

1. Connect the headset to your PC with the USB-C cable. The firmware update in step 3 needs the cable. After that, the 2.4GHz dongle works fine for changing settings.

2. Update Glorious CORE. Download the latest version from the Glorious software page, or let CORE update itself.

3. Update the headset firmware. Open GHS Wireless InfinitePlay in CORE. If you see Update Available next to the firmware version in the top right, click it. Keep the headset connected until it finishes.

4. Switch on Volume Boost. Click GHS Wireless InfinitePlay in CORE. Volume Boost sits on the My Headset tab, the first one that opens. Flick the toggle on.

5. Reset your left knob. The game channel now sits at 100% all the time, so turn the left knob to wherever you want your chat volume.

6. Set your volume with the right knob. The right knob controls overall volume. Turn it up until it sounds right.

What Volume Boost Does

Volume Boost raises GHS Wireless InfinitePlay's maximum output. It does this by resetting the headset's volume scale, so the whole range of the right knob shifts up and the top end stays clean.

It's a single toggle in CORE, so there's nothing to tune. Switch it on and let the right knob do the rest.

Volume Boost saves to the headset itself. Switch it on once from your PC and it stays on when you plug the dongle into a PS5 or Switch, or pair with your phone over Bluetooth.

How the left knob works now

This is the part that trips people up, so here's the full picture.

GHS Wireless InfinitePlay has two rotary knobs. The right one controls overall volume. The left one controls chat mix, which is the balance between your game audio and your voice chat. Chat mix works in 2.4GHz mode.

With the update, the game channel is pinned at 100%, all the time. The left knob controls chat volume only. Turn it down and Discord gets quieter, while your game stays exactly where it was. The right knob still sets overall volume for everything.

The net result: you set chat where you like it once, and the game always gets the full output.

Still Quiet After Volume Boost? Check These

If
you've switched on Volume Boost and something still sounds low, the volume is usually being capped somewhere before it reaches the headset.

Platform

What to check

Windows PC

Open Sound settings and set Headset Earphone (GH Wireless InfinitePlay - Game) as your output device at 100%. Then open Volume Mixer and check the game itself isn't turned down.

PS5 / PS4

Open the Control Center, select Sound, and raise the headset volume. Check the game's own audio settings too.

Switch

Raise the system volume with the buttons on the console, then check the in-game volume.

Phone / Bluetooth

Raise the media volume on your phone. Some apps have their own volume slider.

Any game

Check the in-game master volume. Plenty of games ship at 70 or 80% by default.

If you game on PC and use Discord, Windows shows the headset as two devices. Set your game (or Windows default) to
Headset Earphone (GH Wireless InfinitePlay - Game). Then go to Discord's Voice & Video settings and set the output device to Headphones (GH Wireless InfinitePlay - Chat). That way the left knob controls exactly what it should.

A Quick Word on Your Ears

Volume Boost raises the ceiling. How close you get to it is your call. The
WHO-ITU safe listening standard sets 80dB for 40 hours a week as its reference level for adults. For long sessions, turn it up until footsteps are clear, then stop there.

FAQ

Why is my GHS Wireless
InfinitePlay so quiet?

If GHS Wireless InfinitePlay sounds quiet, update Glorious CORE. The update adds Volume Boost, which raises maximum output, and pins the game channel at 100% so the left knob only controls chat. Switch Volume Boost on, then set your level with the right knob.

How do I turn on Volume Boost for GHS Wireless InfinitePlay?

Connect GHS Wireless InfinitePlay to your PC, update Glorious CORE and the headset firmware, then switch on Volume Boost in the My Headset tab. It raises the headset's maximum output. After that, set chat volume with the left knob and overall volume with the right knob.

Does Volume Boost cause distortion on GHS Wireless InfinitePlay?

Volume Boost resets the GHS Wireless InfinitePlay volume scale to raise maximum output, and it's designed to do that without adding distortion. If a song or game sounds harsh at full volume with a heavy EQ boost on top, lower the EQ boost by a couple of dB.

What does the left knob on GHS Wireless InfinitePlay do?

After the Glorious CORE update, the GHS Wireless InfinitePlay left knob controls chat volume only. The game channel stays at 100% at all times, and the right knob controls overall volume. Set chat once and leave it. Chat mix works when the headset is connected in 2.4GHz mode.

Does Volume Boost work on PS5 and Switch?

Yes. Volume Boost saves to GHS Wireless InfinitePlay itself, so once you switch it on in Glorious CORE on a PC, it stays on when you plug the 2.4GHz dongle into a PS5, PS4 or Switch. It also stays on when you pair the headset with your phone over Bluetooth.
