Indie Gems: Owlboy

An indie platformer that took 10 years to develop (YES, TEN YEARS), Owlboy lets you "fly and explore a brand new world in the clouds!" One of the most critically acclaimed games last year, we finally had a chance to play it and here's what we think:

Why you should play it

  • Fantastic art style
  • Soundtrack enhances overall atmosphere
  • Responsive controls
  • Detailed world is a joy to explore
  • A nice mix of puzzle solving and exploration
  • Low difficulty curve gives you more time to actually enjoy the game

What might put you off

  • Not everyone is a fan of pixel art/graphics
  • Those looking for a serious challenge will (probably) be disappointed
  • Questionable price tag ($24.99) given the game is fairly short

Plays similarly to

Shu, Wings of Vi, Super Win the Game
